Helton, Doris Ethel Wilson Doris Ethel Wilson - Helton, 84, passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, May 29th, 2006 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born in Moville, Iowa on May 27, 1922 to Loyd & Ethel SPANGLER WILSON. In 1943, she met her husband and lifetime love, William L. HELTON in Colorado Springs, Colorado, while he was stationed in the United States Air Force and she worked on planes for the World War II war effort. Doris received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Peabody-Vanderbilt University in Tennessee and her Master's and Reading Specialist Degrees from Arizona State University. She taught early elementary grades and later was a reading specialist for 7th & 8th grades at Andalucia and Barcelona schools in Phoenix, AZ. She was a faithful member of Central Methodist Church for many years, and then attended Valley Cathedral Church for over 20 years. She loved the Lord, adored her family & was a true role model always living her life with a special grace and charm enriching those around her. She lived in Iowa on a farm as a child, and later in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and 3 daughters. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1960 where she spent her life dedicated to her family raising three daughters on her own. Besides her husband (who passed away in 1958), and her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted and loving daughter, Judy Helton, sister, Ogla Stiles & husband Leland "Bert" Stiles (still living) of Washington, brother Darrell Wilson & his wife Lillian of Iowa. Along with special nieces and nephews, and dear longtime friend Mary White of Tennessee, she is survived and will always be missed and cherished by her loving daughters, Shirley Helton-Paisley (Gary) & Theresa Helton-Hauer, devoted caretaker, & best friend. She is also survived by 5 adoring grandchildren, Tamara Hauer-Price (Tony), William Hauer, Adam Hauer (Tabitha), Cathy Falbo, Brian Falbo (Jen) & 7 great grandchildren, Brittni, Skylar, and Wesley, Kayla and Makenzie, Anna and Alexandra whom she loved with all her heart and who loved her dearly in return. We will forever cherish our angel who we shared so many special memories with on earth and who will always be our angel in heaven.
