Christopher Blazier, 63, passed away on May 25, 2006. Chris was born on August 5, 1942 in Cleveland, TN. Having moved with his family to Arizona as a child, he later attended Murphy Elementary School in Phoenix and Agua Fria Union High in Avondale before joining the Air Force in 1960. Upon completion of his military service, he attended Arizona State University in Tempe where he received a Bachelor of Science degree (Phi Beta Kappa) and a Master's degree in Education. Chris taught Biology/Science at both Shadow Mountain High School and North Canyon High School in the Paradise Valley School District. He recently retired from teaching after 28 years.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Jacquelyn Mossinger, Uncle Paul H. White, Aunt Mary Lou McClelland and Cousin Charlotte A. Cheek. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Blazier, son Brian Blazier, Brian's mother, Valerie (Gary) Polega, sister Pamela J. (Marion) Gillum, brother Harry M. (Gloria) Mossinger, nieces Chantal Mossinger and Carmen Burt, nephew Paul Mossinger, Aunt Elizabeth Ann White and Uncle Gail (Elizabeth) McClelland Jr. Chris was a handsome, intelligent, funny and kind man. He was an accomplished guitar player who often played in his Uncle Gail McClelland's dance band in the 1970's. He loved reading, skiing, camping, hang gliding, woodworking and every dog, cat, fish or bird that ever crossed his path. We will love him and miss him forever. Services have been held. Contributions in Chris' memory may be made to the educational institution or animal welfare organization of your choice. Published in The Arizona Republic from 6/7/2006 - 6/10/2006.
