Kenneth H. Schmit

A memorial service celebrating the life of Kenneth H. Schmit, 85, will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Reverend Dianne Brown.

Kenneth was born June 21, 1923 in LaCrosse, Wis. and passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. He was a member of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. He served in the Signal Corps in the United States Army in China and India during WWII. Kenneth received his B.S. and Masters in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin and retired in Chemistry Marketing.

His parents, and brother, Robert Ray Schmit, preceded Kenneth in death. Survivors are his loving wife of 57 years, Doris Elaine Finke Schmit ; sons, Randall Scott Schmit and Russell Roy

Schmit , and wife, Lynn; daughter, Karen Lynne Downs and husband, Bruce; grandsons, Jeremy and Kyle Saye and Cody and Logan Schmit; granddaughter, Alyssa Schmit; sister-in-law, Ollie Schmit; Ruth, Lori and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Marshall Street Chapel assisted with the arrangements.
