Lloyd E. Norris, 87, a Casa Grande businessman for over 50 years, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family August 15, 2006.
He was born May 21, 1919 in rural Montauk, Missouri to Jarrott and Rosa (AUTERSON) NORRIS. He was raised in Missouri and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia.

He was a World War II veteran, serving as a flight instructor and service pilot in the Army Air Corps. He is a past president of the Arizona Agricultural Chemical Association, and Los Conquistadors, and was a Lt. Col. in the Civil Air Patrol. He was also a charter member and lifetime member of Casa Grande Valley Elks Lodge #1957. He was present for the 50th anniversary celebration of the Lodge in March of 2005, and was proud to receive his charter member pin.

A graduate with honors from Arizona State University, he started Taylor and Norris Agricultural Chemicals and Supplies with his business partner. This business eventually became Norris Chemical Company, a family business. It is now Norris RV with his daughter, son-in-law and grandson operating it.

Lloyd had a passion for flying and loved hunting and fishing. After his retirement, he and his wife Liz spent summers in Pinetop relaxing with their dogs and watching their garden grow. Lloyd was also an avid reader, trading books with friends and family. In his later years, he looked forward to Wednesday night dinners with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Violet Owens, Bertha Blackwell, Doxie Smith, Alberta Long, and brother Paul Norris, and first wife of 35 years Ruth WHITESIDE NORRIS.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elizabeth; one daughter Lela Herman (husband Butch), one grandson Matthew Norris Herman (wife Erica), and two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Jordan Miraldi.
He is also survived by stepchildren: Gayle Cherry, Malcolm McKinley, Mike McKinley and Maurine Dillahunty; also many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Lloyd's life was held at J. Warren/Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, 525 N. Peart Rd., Casa Grande, AZ. J. Warren Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Casa Grande Valley Newspapers Inc. August 18, 2006
