Ryan Michael Gulbrandsen, Ryan was a Valentine baby, born February 14, 1986 to Richard Gulbrandsen & Karen Skousen Gulbrandsen. Ryan was an excellent student who excelled in math and was in ELP in elementary school and junior high school. Before attending Mountain View High School, he attended Ishikawa Elementary School and Stapley Junior High School, where he participated in student council, football, wrestling, track, and water polo. Ryan has always loved sports. As a little boy, he participated in T-ball, soccer, basketball, and football. He loved to water ski, snow ski, and snowboard. He was a tremendous swimmer and even set swimming records in the breaststroke. His favorite sport, however was wrestling. Ryan began wrestling when he was in Fourth Grade. In Ninth Grade, he was undefeated until the championship round of the city tournament. As a sophomore on Mountain View's Junior Varsity wrestling team, Ryan went 15-0 and won the Junior Varsity Tournament. Ryan also developed and owned a business known as Superb Car Audio, through which he distributed audio and video equipment for automobiles and trucks. Ryan was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he had opportunities to serve in the Deacons' and Teachers' Quorum Presidencies. He enjoyed his experiences in the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Ryan loved to provide service to those in need. For his Eagle Project, he collected and delivered Thanksgiving dinners to 75 needy families.

Ryan was deeply loved by his mother and father, his sister Julie Gulbrandsen Trejo (Russell), and brothers Richard, Jess, Brad, and Matt. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his grandparents William and Joan Skousen, Lois Daly, and Norman and Joy Gulbrandsen, niece & nephew Michael & Alexis Trejo, together with loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. Ryan is known by all as one who would reach out to those in need. Visitation at Bunker Family Funeral Homes Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way. Services at the Citrus Heights Stake Center, 2547 N. 32nd Street with a viewing one hour prior. Donation may be made to the Ryan Gulbrandsen Memorial Fund c/o Paul Welker, 1440 N. 40th St. #7, Mesa, AZ 85205. Funds will be used for a variety of charitable causes in Ryan's name.
