BLACKWATER - Olive Hogan, 99, died Nov. 30, 2005 at Gila River Indian Care Center. Visitation at the District 1 Service Center. The funeral was at Blackwater Presbyterian Church, with John Jacobs Sr. officiating. Burial in North Blackwater Cemetery.

Mrs. Hogan was born July 20, 1906 in Blackwater and was a daughter of James and Carrie Ellis. She was a very hard worker who loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her many descendants. She made horsehair baskets when she was younger and enjoyed sewing and making quilts, especially for babies. She liked to cook traditional foods. Survivors include two daughters, Caroline Perkins of Chandler and Imogene Jackson of Sacaton; a son, Roger Ellis of Blackwater; a brother, Herman Ellis of Blackwater; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 40 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers. J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Casa Grande Dispatch December 06, 2005
