GIBBONS, Marion Todd

Funeral Services for Marion Todd Gibbons, 46, were held in Mesa, AZ. Todd passed away in his home on Monday, September 1, 2003.

Todd's lifetime achievements include many, but none as powerful as his example of devotion to his family and love of the outdoors. He grew up in Holbrook, AZ graduating in 1975. He served a mission for the LDS Church from 1976-1978, where he became a leader and example to the many lives he touched.

In 1979, Todd married Sheryl Smithson, also of Holbrook, in the Mesa Temple. They are the parents of 5 children.

Todd graduated from ASU in 1994 Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Secondary Education. He then moved directly into a masters program and received his degree in Administration. Since 1995, Todd has taught Spanish at Hendrix Jr. High. He is also the Student Counselor Advisor. He thoroughly enjoyed challenging, teaching and inspiring the students to achieve their full potential. He achieved the Rank of Eagle and continued to live his life by the Scout Law. He helped many young boys accomplish their goals and through his example he encouraged them to live their lives by that same code.

Todd's greatest legacy of a man is that of an outstanding father. He was a loving husband to his best friend and wife, and a dedicated and attentive son to his mother. He was close to his brothers and sisters and his greatest joy was to spend time will all his family every chance they had.

He is survived by his devoted and tender wife Sheryl; three sons, Bryan Max, Cameron Todd, and Taylor Hatch; two daughters, Paige and Madison all of Mesa; his mother, JoAn Gibbons of Holbrook, Valri Cherry of Mesa, Debbie Karges of Holbrook, Brian Gibbons of Cottonwood, Eric Gibbons of Pima, and Leesa Kinghorn of Sandy, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Gregg Alan Gibbons and his father, Dr. V. M. Gibbons. Meldrum Mortuary in Mesa will handle the arrangements.

Services at the L.D.S. Stake Center at 2252 W. Mesquite, off Dobson between Elliott and Warner. Friends and family are all welcome.
