Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, September 12, 2008 John William (Bill) Kessler 1928-2008 Bill Kessler passed from this life on Aug. 23, 2008, while in intensive care, surrounded by his family. He was born in Los Angeles on Oct. 28, 1928, to George Washington Kessler and Elva May Isenberg; and his stepmother, Helen Rice Kessler predeceased him. Helen was a positive influence in his life. He was a 1947 (Seahawk) graduate of Redondo Union High School and enjoyed a thirty-three year career as a Southern California Edison employee. He started as a meter reader and retired as a manager in the Energy Services division. Bill and his wife Donna, who survives him, retired to Prescott, Ariz., where they enjoyed a home in the pines. Illness brought them back to California where they were closer to family. They are missed by friends Connie and Don Harney who remain in Prescott. A gentle and funny man, Bill was an avid fan of USC sports even when the Trojans were not at their current level of success. He and Donna loved to travel, spending their vacations and retirement driving throughout the United States. A long-time member of the Elks and Lions clubs, Bill became more involved once he retired. “Mr. Bill” will be deeply missed by his children Kevin (Diane), Kim, Kelly (Carey), Tonya and his stepson Stephen (Beth) Ryan and family; grandchildren, Tanya, Bradford, Lucas, Elyse, Brittani, Heather, Francina, Sunny and Skylar; great-grandchildren Ashley and Reilly, as well as his brother David.
