Alfred E. (Fred) Shepard

Alfred “Fred” E. Shepard, 71, of Dewey, Ariz., met his Lord and Savior Sunday Sept. 7, 2008, in Prescott, Ariz. Fred was born April 5, 1937, to Hollis and Mary Shepard in Pueblo, Colo.

Upon entering the Air Force he served world wide as a nuclear weapons instructor. After retiring he became a successful insurance broker. Later he and wife Jeni managed senior retirement apartments in Colorado. He was a loving and devoted husband and father always full of encouragement to his family and friends and known as a teaser and great storyteller. He had a love for sports and was a die-hard Denver Bronco fan.

Fred was preceded in death by first wife Shirley, infants Tommy and Diana Lynn, son Michael and brother Gary. Fred is survived by wife Jeni; daughter Linda (Parke) North Dakota and grandson, Justin (Stephanie) of Colorado; brothers, Glenn, (Sandy), Bill (Carol) and Morris (Brenda); and sisters Charlotte (Arnold) and Sue; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at the Prescott VA Chapel, Prescott, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or VA Hospice Prescott, Ariz.

Services entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
