Bryan Ernest Gackle
July 31, 1934 - Jan. 23, 2007

Bryan was born in Klum, N.D. on July 31, 1934, and died Jan. 23, 2007. He is survived by his wife Arlene, three children, David Gackle, Beth Caldwell and Kris Ann Hinkle and their spouses, Cheryl Gackle, Tim Caldwell and Tom Hinkle; nine grandchildren, Barry, Eric and Hallie Gackle, Bryana and Maggie Caldwell, Derek and Ashley Hinkle and Abbey and Andrew Ingalls and his mother-in-law, Ruth Nesset; brother-in-law, Jim Johnston; two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce Johnston.

Both here and in North Dakota, Bryan was active in theater while instructing at Dickinson State University as head of the speach and theater department, and here in Prescott with Prescott Fine Arts Association.

In 1970, he was appointed by President Nixon for the initial Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.

He moved to Prescott in 1980 and was in the real estate business until he retired from Yavapai Hills in September of 2005. Bryan was always proud to say that Prescott was the best place on Earth to live.

While working with PFAA he directed many fine theaterical productions, including, "Damn Yankees," "The Odd Couple," "Nonsense," "The Sound of Music," "Annie," "Fiddler on the Roof,", and "Chorus Line."

Bryan's service will take place at 1 pm Saturday, Jan. 27, at American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Rock (Youth Outreach of American Lutheran Church), 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott, Ariz. 86301.
