Memorial services are scheduled 2 p.m. Friday at the Wickenburg Funeral Home for Genevieve Gates, 70, of Congress.

Private cremation will follow.

Mrs. Gates died Oct. 5 in Wickenburg Community Hospital.

She was born in 1917 in Meridian, N.Y.

She had lived in Arizona for 45 years, and had worked at the Morristown and Wikieup schools as a cook and later as head cook at the Pioneer Home in Prescott.

She enjoyed painting, quilting and sewing, and was a member of the Mountain Artist Guild.

Survivors include her husband, Otis Gates, of Congress; four sons, Gerry, of Congress; Richard, of Apache Junction; Rudy, of Wickenburg, and Larry, of Congress; two daughters, Phyllis Wells of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sheila Fletcher of Vienna, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family asks that donations be made to the physical therapy department at Wickenburg Community Hospital.
