Delores J. (Dodie) (Sperke) Carmichael

Delores (Dodie) J. Carmichael was taken home by her Lord on Sept. 25, 2008. She was born on Aug. 2, 1938, to Joseph and Rose (Paccosa) Sperke in Sioux City, Iowa.

Dodie is predeceased by her husband Russell “Russ” John Carmichael. They have and are survived by three children, Theresa “Tree” Carmichael, Kathleen (Tony) Camacho, and Patrick (Kelly) Carmichael. She was the eldest of and is survived by brother and sisters Don (Syd) Sperke, Lorraine (Mike) Alvey and Charlotte (Manny) Cantu. She is also survived by grandchildren Jesse Russell Carmichael, Tobias Paul Camacho, Nathaniel Joseph Camacho, Matthew John Camacho, Adam Michael Camacho, Meghan Kelsey Carmichael, Andrea Delores Carmichael and great-grandson Joseph Russell Carmichael; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by grandson Aaron Christopher Camacho.

Dodie was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was most important in her life. She had a passion for interior decorating. Hobbies included painting, sewing, and numerous arts and crafts.

Family will be receiving friends 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2008, with Rosary to follow at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., Prescott, Ariz. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Sacred Heart Church, 150 Fleury Ave., Prescott, Ariz. Interment at Heritage Memorial Park immediately following Mass with luncheon to take place in the lower level of Sacred Heart Church following interment.

Donations may be made to Children’s Tumor Foundation, 95 Pine, New York, N.Y. 10005, in memory of Delores Carmichael, for benefit of Matthew Camacho, Prescott, Ariz.
