Barbara Ann (Larson) Hochrein

Barbara Ann Hochrein died at home on Sept. 24, 2008, in Prescott, Ariz. Barbara was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Mora, Minn. to Elmer and Myrna Larson; one of five children.

She was preceded in death by husband Heinz Hochrein and companion Dick Levine. She is survived by sister Patricia Slijk; sons Peter (Julie) and Tom (Cathy); daughters Heidi and Ingrid (Mike); four beloved grandchildren, Lisa, Michelle, Heather and Alina; numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara taught elementary school in southern California for 25 years and has lived in Prescott for 13 years where she was active in OLLI, VASA and various charity organizations.

Barbara loved her friends and family, her mountain-top home, her flowers and her cats. She enjoyed world traveling, camping, hiking, photography, dancing, music, reading and learning all her life.

A memorial service will be noon Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at the Unity Church of Prescott, 145 S. Arizona Ave. Donations in her memory may be made to the Unity Church’s Share the Abundance.

Hampton Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
