| Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa Wednesday, January 11, 1984 Evelyn Kirby McBride, LaMesa, Calif. Evelyn Kirby McBride, a former Winterset resident, died of cancer at a hospital in LaMesa, Calif. on Dec. 4. Burial was Dec. 12 in Phoenix, Ariz. The daughter of Herman and Josephine Groves Kirby, she was born Sept. 22, 1905 in Winterset. She graduated from Winterset High School and spent her early life here, moving to California in 1932, following her marriage to Isaac McBride. They later moved to Phoenix, her home at the time of her death. Survivors include five children, Arthur McBride of Los Banos, Calif., Elizabeth Todd of Valley Center, Calif., Daniel McBride of Scottsdale, Ariz., Evelyn Mary Smith of Hopewell, Va., and Joan Dungan of Phoenix, Ariz., two stepdaughters, Mildred Christian and Louise Illingworth, both of LaMirada, Calif., 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hein of Spring Valley, Calif. and Mrs. Lorraine Martin of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a stepson, parents, one brother and one sister. |
