Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa September 16, 1941 George Delong Dies In Arizona Truro Resident Went West In April In Search of Health Truro - (Special) - George P. Delong of this community died last Thursday at Tucson, Ariz. where he had gone last spring in a search for health it was announced here this week. (short sentence unreadable) Mr. Delong was born June 29, 1892 in Clarke county, the son of Mr. & Mrs. T. C. Delong. He spent his entire life in Madison and Clarke counties, with the exception of two years in Denver. He was married on Feb. 10, 1914 to Mill Almeda Ellson. They were the parents of two children, Orville, who died in infancy; and the present Mrs. Esther Stewart of Dexter. He had been a member of the Truro Methodist church since 1916. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his mother, two brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Kale funeral home in Truro in charge of Rev. W. W. Watson of the Methodist church here. Burial was made in the Field cemetery (Clarke County). |
