We lost our husband, dad, our best friend on Oct. 4, 2008. He left us peacefully and was surrounded by his loved ones as he went home to be with the Lord.

Bill, 73, was born July 11, 1935, in Tiltonsville, Ohio, and moved to Arizona in 1953. Bill ran a glass and mirror business with his son-in-law Geoff for more than 16 years. He greatly enjoyed his summer fishing trips in Alaska with his wife Shirley of 48 years. They made many lifelong friends there.

He loved nature and spent many hours outdoors with his daughter Kim. His grandkids, Alexandria and Garrett Crooks, were his pride and joy. He enjoyed watching his son Woody rope. Bill made certain that they all knew they were deeply loved. He also leaves behind his mother, Morene; brothers Greg (Johnnie) and Earl Holt (Elizabeth); sister Marlene Collins (Rex); father-in-law Woody Garside; sister-in-law Linda Dillon (Frank); brother-in-law Terry Garside (Dolores); and lots of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, with visitation one hour prior at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., Prescott, Ariz.
