Michael Ray Patterson, 62, of Lakeside, AZ, passed away Friday, December 23, 2005.

Viewing was at Black's Mortuary and a Rosary was recited at Saint Rita's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was at Saint Rita's Catholic Church.

Arrangements handled by Black's Mortuary of Show Low.

Michael Ray Patterson, 62, of Lakeside died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 at RTA Hospice with his family at his side, following a long battle with ALS.

Michael was born Nov. 13, 1943 at National City, Calif., the son of Raymond and Margaret Patterson. He graduated from Coolidge High School and immediately entered the US Army. Following his discharge, he earned a business degree and began his career with the Department of Economic Security working in Phoenix, Chandler and Show Low. He enjoyed working with and helping people any way he could.

He was married to Jacquelyn (Mead) Feb. 1988 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Mesa. The couple moved to Show Low in 1991 where Michael enjoyed fishing, sports, the outdoors and painting. Michael loved to joke and tease even though his illness was taking a toll on him. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Benevolent, Protective Order of Elks, Show Low Lodge No. 9020, and American Legion Post 86 of Heber-Overgaard. His smile and funny way will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn; daughter, Jennifer; son, Kyle; daughter, Melissa (Dean); grandchildren Daniel, Olivia, Ashley, Ryan and Tyler of Reno, Nevada; son, Michael (Wendy) and grandchildren Jessica and Dustin of Palm Desert, Calif.; his mother, Margaret Patterson of Coolidge; mother and father-in-law Doreen and Gerald Mead of Show Low; sister-in-law, Juliane (Georg) Thieme; and nieces Mary and Marie Kistler of Lakeside; sister-in-law Jessica (Joe); nephews Jerry and Joey of Show Low; along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna; sister, Kathleen; and brother-in-law Randy Kistler.
