Edna P. (Parra) Hernandez

Edna P. Hernandez, 78, of Peoria, Ariz., passed away Oct. 17, 2008. She was born in Prescott, Ariz. on March 15, 1930 to Manuel and Theresa Parra.

Her husband John G. Hernandez precedes Edna in death. She is a former resident of Bagdad, Ariz. Edna was a beloved Wife, Mother and Nana. She loved dancing, sports and was an accomplished artist. Edna loved life.

She was a devoted Christian, attending Bagdad's St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for 32 years. She embodied the love of Christ, faithfully passing on her faith to her children. She created a loving home of laughter and joy that impacted her children greatly.

She is survived by her sons, John (Jessica) and David (Lorri); daughters, Theresa (Michael) Levine and Frances Hernandez; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Road, Peoria. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5614 W. Orangewood Ave., Glendale. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Food bank.
