DEATH COMES TO MRS. J. O. CRISWELL

Former Mary Hardy of This Community Dies in Arizona

Mrs. Mary Hardy Criswell of Tempe, Arizona, former Winterset resident, died early Thursday morning, March 9th in St. Monica's hospital in Phoenix, following a long illness.

Mrs. Criswell, who was 45 years of age, was born in Winterset Sept. 27, 1904, the daughter of the late B. L. Hardy, and Mrs. Hardy.

She was graduated from the local high school and lived here until after her marriage to James O. Criswell. The family moved to Tempe, Arizona two and a half years ago, on account of her health, from Fargo, N. Dak. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Fargo, and of the Order of Eastern Star in Winterset.

She is survived by her husband, James O. Criswell, a son Charles, who is a freshman in Arizona State Teachers college of Tempe, and a daughter Carolyn; her mother, Mrs. B. L. Hardy, a brother, Fred Hardy, and a sister, Mrs. M. J. Johnson, all of Minneapolis, Minn.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the Carr Mortuary in Tempe, and interment was in Mound City, Mo., yesterday.
