Russell Jr., James Edward James Edward Russell Jr, 62, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on September 23. Jim was born in Warwick, NY and moved to Phoenix at 7. He was a member with the Sea Scouts, beginning his love for the ocean. While at Phoenix College he was a member of the marching band and decided to join the Naval Reserves. He then served with the Navy on active duty in Vietnam. Jim returned home and continued his education at ASU, where he met his wife. He worked with the City of Phoenix as a Civil Engineer for 32 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts where he rose to the rank of Eagle Scout. He volunteered as an Assistant Scout Master with Troop 30. Jim is survived by: his loving wife and best friend Sylvia, daughter Danielle, son Eric, brother Bill, and grandchildren Beckett, Spencer, Ava, and Sophia Grace. Viewing was at Green Acres Mortuary. Funeral service was held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Floral Arrangements, or donations made directly to Troop 30 Boy Scouts of America via Green Acres are appreciated.
