John H. Wingfield, 61, of Buckeye Arizona, passed away February 21, 2002 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. John was deeply loved and will be sadly missed. His memories will be forever in our hearts.

John was born in Phoenix, Arizona on August 15, 1940 and was the sixth of nine children.

He was a businesman in the transportation of livestock for over forty years and founder of Wingfield Livestock Transportation. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a wonderful grandpa. He attended the White Tanks Baptist Church faithfully and his strength was an inspiration to us all.

His father Claude Wingfield and his brothers, Phillip, Jack and Jerry Wingfield, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Wingfield, who was with him, by his side, every day of his battle, his daughter, Katherine Marin and son-in-law, Pedro Marin his daughter Tamie Maggard and son-in-law, Jim Maggard his daughter, Michelle Olivarez and son-in-law, Gene Olivarez his son, Johnny D. Wingfield his son, Edward Wingfield and daughter-in-law, Tammy Wingfield his son, Curt McGlasson and daughter-in-law, Sue McGlasson, and his son, Nathan Wingfield. He is also survived by his mother, Irene Wingfield his sister, Phyllis Brown and his twin sister, Joan Leroy his brothers, Claude Wingfield, Gary Wingfield, and Patrick Wingfield seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, and many friends who loved him.

The family thanks you for your prayers, respect, remembrance, and love. We were truly blessed with the time we had with Johnny. Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2002 from 5-9 pm. At Hansen Mortuaries, 8314 N 7th Street, Phoenix, Az 85020. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at 11:00 am at the White Tanks Baptist Church, 1420 N 192nd Ave Buckeye, Arizona 85326. A Luncheon will follow the service.

Visitation will be held 5-9pm, Monday, February 25, 2002 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix. Services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at White Tanks Southern Baptist Church, 1420 N. 192nd Ave., Buckeye.
