Ralph S. Horton


CAMP VERDE, Ariz. — Ralph S. Horton of Camp Verde, Ariz., died May 17, 2001.

He was born May 31, 1918, in Oneonta, N.Y., to the late Earl E. Horton and Cora Gillett Horton.

Mr. Horton was a World War II 3rd Army Division veteran, serving 10 months in England before joining the Allied Expeditionary Forces Invasion of Omaha Beach in France. He received five Battle Stars and a Silver Star.

He made his home in Otego, N.Y., farming and truck driving. Retiring in 1981, he relocated to Cottonwood and Clarkdale, Ariz.

He was a member of VFW Post 7400, Cottonwood.

Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; son, Carl, and his wife, Gladys Crow Horton.


Survivors include a stepdaughter and son in-law, Janet Crow Moore and Bryant Moore of Monticello, Ga.
