Betty (Payne) McMullin

Betty Payne McMullin, 88, of Prescott Valley, died Jan. 9, 2006, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center hospital in Prescott, Ariz.

Betty was born Oct. 1, 1917, in Osaka, Va. She moved to Prescott
Valley three years ago after living most of her life in the West: California, Montana and Utah.

Her husband preceded her in death as did her youngest daughter, Alva Juanita Dudley Marks. Surviving her are two sisters, Martha Loraditch and Nellie Reese; and two brothers, Ansel and Rufus Payne. Joyce Kelton, her daughter, also survives her. Her beloved surviving grandsons are Matthew, Kelly, and Phil Marks. Great-grandsons are Casey, Justin, Scan, and Zachary.

Betty enjoyed traveling the world. She loved painting, hunting, golfing, bird watching and listening to opera. She also loved reading
and collecting books about American Indian history.

Services will be held Jan. 17, 2006, at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley, at 4 p.m. Eulogy to be given by her grandson, Matthew Marks.
