Ernestina L (Lozano) Chiquete

Ernestina L. “Ernie” Chiquete, 76, of Kearny, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007 in Phoenix.

Born July 7, 1930 in Sonora to Margarito and Sebevra Lozano, she was a lifetime resident of the Copper Basin area, living in Sonora and then Kearny.

A homemaker, she was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was always ready to help take care of people and share with anyone in need. She was a great cook, and she volunteered at her church, helping with cooking and cleaning. She was also a member of the church choir.

She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Left behind in loving memory are daughters, Elvia (Bill) Griffith of Phoenix and Dori Chiquete of Kearny; sons, Steve A. “Bucky” (Julie) Chiquete of Queen Creek, Donny (Yvonne) Chiquete of Mesa and Paul Danny Chiquete of Kearny; sisters, Maggie of Superior, Marina of Pennsylvania and Mary of Superior; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Rosary was held Jan. 24 at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny followed by the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father James Aboyi. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery in Superior.

Griffith Mortuary assisted the family.
