Frederick (Rick) Troy Malinowski, age 46, of Prescott Valley, passed away in his home on or about Jan. 7, 2006. The cause is still unknown.

Rick was born on Feb. 5, 1959 in the early morning hours at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott. He lived most of his life in the Prescott area. He was born to Gregory and Carolyn (Edwards) Malinowski.

He left behind two sons, Casey Malinowski and Logan Malinowski, along with his sister, Cathy (Scott) Day and his parents, Gregory and Rochelle Malinowski. He has one niece, Lana Day, and one nephew, Greg Day, who loves to play guitar just like his Uncle Rick.

Rick loved his motorcycles since his first one at 7 years old. He loved
the outdoors and camping. He was not one to wait for life to happen; he went with it and lived every moment to the fullest. He loved his sons and they both walk just like him, on their tiptoes with a little bounce. Rick was the first with a joke or a silly saying to make you
smile.

He had a talent for nicknaming everyone he met. 501 Levi brand jeans were the only pants acceptable for him throughout his life. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1977 and started working in the marble trade, working most of his life in the tri-city area. He also worked in the construction and cement trade, and at the time of his death he was back full swing in the marble industry again, working for Precision Marble.

He loved to play guitar, go shopping, play pool and even tried to be a cowboy when he was younger and rode bulls. Fear was not his style. He
will truly be missed by so many.

Rick's family would like to give special thanks to Tim Michelbrink for all his help and for being a lifelong friend and mentor to Rick, and to Butch Hampton for his incredible help to all of us in this extreme time of need. Many thanks for their love and concern.

A memorial service will be held at the Goldwater Lake Pavilion on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 2 pm. Refreshments will be served. Please come celebrate his life with his family and friends and say farewell to his free-spirited ways. There will never be another like him. He was an original.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Prescott High School Music Department, Instrumental Music Program, 1050
N. Ruth St., Prescott, Ariz., 86301.

The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
