Donaldson, 84, formerly of Wickenburg, Arizona and Dodge Center, Minnesota, died November 25, 1992 at Valley View Nursing Home, Houston, Minnesota. He was born June 28, 1908 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Charles and Anna Erickson Donaldson. He graduated from Mechanic Arts High School, St. Paul and the School of Civil Engineering of the University of Minnesota. He married Alice Benson October 14, 1933 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Since 1945, he owned and operated Donaldson Construction Co. and Underground Construction Co., both in Dodge Center. He worked as an engineer on the Alaskan Highway during World War II. He was president of the District Pipeline Contractor Association during the 1960’s. He was a member and past president of the Desert Caballeros of Wickenburg. Survivors include his wife, Alice of Houston, Minnesota; a son, James (Ruth) Donaldson, of Dodge Center, Minnesota; a daughter, Sue (Rev. James) Minnis of Shawano, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister. Funeral services were held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Rushford, Minnesota on December 1, 1992 with burial in River Side Cemetery, Dodge Center, Minnesota. |
