Christine (Puckett) Dawley

Christine Dawley age 86 years and 9 months, was born in Lexington, Ky., April 20, 1919,to John and Susan Puckett.

She was raised in Ohio and attended Bethel Grade and High School.

Moving on to Cincinnati, she attended the God Bible School for some time. She also attended the First Apostolic Church of Cincinnati. At 21 she was baptized in His name and was serving the Lord.

She was employed by the Kroger Grocery Co., and during the war she was employed at Crosley Co. serving the war effort.

In 1946 she met William Dawley, and shortly after they married on April 20, 1946. She is the mother of 7 children: 4 girls and 3 boys, namely Marilyn, Beverly Ann, Constance Sue, Michael H. John P. William "Bill," and Janna Lynn.

She stayed at home with the family she really loved, and also took care of other babies and young children. When the children were in high school, she went to work for the Torrance Unified District and then moved to Tempe, Ariz., where she worked for the Tempe School District.

She opened their home to the caring of babies of working mothers; she loved babies.

A funeral service will be held at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Ariz., on Friday, January 13 at 3:30 p.m., visitation will be one hour prior.

Here is a lullaby which she would sing to the boys and girls:

"That little boy of mine
A tiny turned up nose
Two cheeks just like a rose
To me he'll always be
That little boy of mine
No one will ever know
Just what his coming has meant
He's something that heaven has sent
That little boy of mine"
