Maxine (Risner) Spencer

Maxine Spencer, 90, of Peoria, Ariz., passed away Jan. 12, 2006. She was born Nov. 12, 1915, in Louisville, Ky., to Morgan and Audrey Risner.

Ralph and Maxine Spencer were wed in Alger, Ohio, March 14, 1932. They moved to Yuma in 1948.

Maxine spent her 90 years as a homemaker, mom and avid craft artesian as well as managing a giftware store.

In 1985 Maxine and Ralph moved to Chino Valley, Ariz. Maxine expanded her craft sales and took up quilting at age 80. In 2000, illness forced Maxine into a care center in Goodyear, where a craft shop was dedicated to her.

Nearly a century of creativity was gone as her eye sight failed.

Maxine will be loved and missed by her daughters, Carol (Gene) Van Horn,
Lynda (Gary) Barnes; grandchildren, Randy (Lori) Savage, Ronda (Brian) Hammack; great-grand-children, Deanna, Nicole, Tanner, Dusty, Gunner,
Willie, Ansell, Emily, Keenan; great-great-grandchildren, Alisha, Matti and Justis.

Maxine was preceded in death by husband Ralph, and precious granddaughter, Cathy Lynn Savage.

Both are with her again.

A Memorial service will be Jan. 21, 10 a.m. at Chino Valley Community Church.
