Van Melvin Clark Jr. 56, of Chino Valle, Ariz., passed away at his home on January 22, 2006. Van was born June 28, 1949. in Roanoke, Va.

Van was the owner of the Prescott Valley Archery for 23 years and a life member of the NRA, Bowhunting in Arizona, Arizona Bowhunters Association, member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, North American Shed Hunters Association, and the Arizona Highland Cruisers.

Van was happiest when he was outdoors enjoying mother nature, where he loved to hunt and look for shed antlers. He is preceded in death by his mother Sue Warford and sister Nanette.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Sharon Clark; son Dale Clark and his wife Stephanie; daughter Holly Smith and her husband Clyde; father, Van Melvin Clark, Sr., granddaughter Amber Hallett and step-grand-daughter Stephanie Landry.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday Jan.28, 2006, at the Granite Mountain Archery Range across from Embry Riddle on Willow Creek Road in Prescott.

There will be an archery salute in honor of Van. Anyone wishing to be part of the salute may bring their bow and one arrow to shoot.
