Phyllis J. (Bolles) Kerley

Phyllis J. Kerley died Sept. 1, 2007, at her residence in Prescott, Ariz. She was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Fountain, Minn., the daughter of Lloyd W. and Alvera P. (Hanson) Bolles. Phyllis was 82 years old.

Phyllis with her husband, Al, operated trading posts on the Navajo Indian Reservation at Navajo Mountain, The Gap, Kaibeto and Tuba City. The Tuba City Trading Post is still open and serves as almost a museum for the reservation.

She enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching her hummingbirds, a good game of scrabble and doing crossword puzzles.

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Richard (Cristiana) of Santa Ana, Calif., and Steve (Susan) of Chandler, Ariz.; brother, John Bolles of Las Vegas and sister, Sharon (David) Runyan of Prescott.

She was preceded in death by Al in 1992.

Private cremation at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
