James Lewis Tunnell

James Lewis Tunnell passed away on Nov. 17, 2005, after a long and courageous battle with degenerative disc disease and then cancer of the lungs and spine. Jim was born on May 22, 1940,in Phoenix to Elbert A. and Kathryn Tunnell who preceded him in death.

Jim married his fishing partner, and best friend, Karen Sue Boren on July 29, 1961.

Jim is survived by his wife, Karen of Desert Hills; sons and daughters, Jim and Shelby Tunnell, Toni Livingston and Sheila Tunnell, all of Phoenix, Dirk Tunnell and Penny Vasquez of Prescott Valley and Marde Sue Kraemer; five grandchildren, Nick Tunnell, Ashley Livingston, Dylan Tunnell, Brittany Livingston and Hunter Tunnell; one great-grandson, Austin James Farrington; sister, Esther Conway of New River and Cyndy Davis of Prescott; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Robert and Diana Gray and Bill and Velda Boat of Phoenix.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, at 10 a.m., with services to follow beginning at 11 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, New River Ward, 44611 N. New River Road, New River, Ariz., 85087.

Interment will be at the Mayer Cemetery in Mayer.
