Kasey Lynn Valencour, 17, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, in Prescott, Ariz. She was born June 22, 1991, in Saint Paul, Minn., to Al and Lori Valencour.

Kasey was a beautiful, vibrant 17-year-old girl that has been taken from all of us. We'll miss her "Love of Life" that made her eyes sparkle. You could tell there was a lot more tucked behind those sparkling eyes and her always-present smile.

Kasey wore her heart on her sleeve ... ready to give it to those who needed it. She had a huge personality just waiting to get enough traction in life to bust through. Her passion was to become a whale trainer for Sea World. She had large dreams ... and a large heart, but now leaves a large hole in all of us. We know she is in God's arms but it will take a long time to stop the tears. She will always be present in our hearts and memories.

Kasey was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Marlene Levine; uncle Matthew Levine; and her paternal grandfather Martin L. Valencour Jr.

She is survived by her ever-loving parents, Al and Lori Valencour; her devoted brother Jake; grandfather Bruce Levine; grandmother Barbara Valencour; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Calvary Chapel, 7376 E. First St., Prescott Valley, Ariz., with visitation one hour prior to the service. The family would prefer that memorial donations be sent to Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, AZ in Kasey's name.

Services entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.

Seventeen-year-old Kasey Lynn Valencour may have been racing with the driver of another car just before her death Sunday after her Ford Focus struck a power pole on Willow Creek Road, according to two witnesses interviewed by Prescott police shortly after the deadly crash.

But Kasey Lynn's father says that when police told him about the witness statements, "it never made any sense to us, and it still doesn't."

Al Valencour said the only reason the family can think of for Kasey Lynn driving at high speed is if she was trying to get away from someone.
