Frances Olson passed away Oct. 29, 2008 in Prescott, Ariz. She was born Aug. 26, 1936 in Los Angeles, Calif. but spent most of her life in Prescott, Ariz.

Frances volunteered at the Veteran's Hospital putting in over 4,500 hour. She was chairman of the Whipple Gift Shop for over 15 years. She has received many awards for service including Volunteer of the Year and the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 108 and Unit 78. She was a past Chapau for the 8/40 and involved in the Isle of Honor for our veterans Memorial Day Services.

Frances retired from Mountain Bell as a switchboard operator after 30 years. She spent her retired years enjoying life, hiking, fishing and walking the beaches of Mexico. Francis loved her family, friends and veterans.

She is survived by her four children Russell, Cynthia, Chuck Jr. and Sylvia; four grandchildren Elisa, Natasha, Sahhara and Zayed; brother John; and two sisters Kathy and Sylvia.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at the VA Chapel, Prescott, Ariz.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Whipple Gift Shop - ALA Dept. of AZ, mail to VA Medical Center 135, 500HC, Highway 89 N, Prescott, AZ 86313.
