Elisha Andrew “Andy” Phillips passed away Tuesday, July 8 at the Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Ariz. Elisha was born in Grafton, W.V., on Oct. 23, 1929.

He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17. He was promoted through the ranks and went through both officers and cadet training to become a pilot. He started in the B-25 and went on to fly the B-47 and the B-52 Stratosphere and Spooky gunships. He flew during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Andy served his country for 23 years before his retirement in 1970.

Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather who gave generously without ever asking for anything in return, he was always present for any event, small or large, no matter how far away. Loving, supportive, generous, thoughtful, devoted, compassionate, and committed to all whom he touched. His presence is truly missed, and his love enduring.
