| Vera M. "Grandma" Goff, 82, a longtime Scottsdale resident, died peacefully at Hospice of the Valley, Eckstein Center, September 10, 2003. Grandma was born July 9, 1921 in LaPorte, Indiana and moved to the Valley over 50 years ago. She had been a Professional babysitter for many years and been chosen "Outstanding Foster Parent of the Year" by Maricopa County for 3 consecutive years. Over the years, Grandma has delivered food and flowers to countless Scottsdale residents and shut-ins warming their hearts and brightening their rooms. Memorial Service was Saturday, September 13, 2004, at Messinger Mortuary Chapel, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale. Grandma asked that contributions be made in her memory to Sunshine Acres Children's Home, 3405 N. Higley Road, Mesa, AZ 85215. Published in the Arizona Republic on 9/12/2003.
