Stephen French Corson, 56, Scottsdale, Arizona, died January 9, 2003 of heart disease in Scottsdale. He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Anne Corson of Scottsdale and Michelle Lynn Corson of Columbia, Missouri, sister Gay Corson Watson of Atlanta, Georgia, niece Sarah Watson of Atlanta, and close friend Vickie Goldsmith of Scottsdale. Corson grew up in Sedalia, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Muriel Corson and sister Martha Corson. He was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and attended State Fair Community College, both in Sedalia. He was employed at Albertson's in Scottsdale, having previously worked at Safeway. He had also worked as an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad and manager of Corson's Quik Chek Grocery, in Sedalia. Corson served two tours with the Seabees of the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam war. He received a Viet Nam Service Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Visitation and memorial service was at Messinger Mortuary at 7601 Indian School Road. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2929 S. 48th St., Tempe, Az., 85282.
