James P. Yount, 73, of Phoenix, passed away on March 2nd, 2004. Born June 14, 1931 in Piqua, Ohio to Lou and Myrtle Yount, and raised in Piqua.

Jim served in Korea from 1951 to 1953 where he received two bronze stars.

He married MarySue Williams of Piqua in 1954. They have two sons, James and Scott.

Jim continued to support military efforts throughout his life by working in machine shops. Jim also served the City of Tempe as a Reserve Police Officer and obtained Police Marksman status.

After parting with MarySue, Jim married Ethel Cramer in 1985. Ethel's children, John Jr "Jack", Jane, David and Linda, all became close extended family. Ethel preceded Jim in passing, as have several sisters and a half brother. Jim is survived by his sons, James and Scott of Tempe; stepsons, David, Jack and wife Jane of Phoenix; stepdaughter, Linda of Tucson; sister, Alberta Metcalf of Florida; nieces, nephews and grandchildren in Arizona, Colorado, Florida and Ohio.

Graveside services to be held on March 9th, 10am at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. La Paz Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
