| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, November 20, 2005 Helen J. Stephenson, age 93, of Cottonwood, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at the Peaceful Valley Adult Care Home, in Prescott. Helen was born Feb. 12, 1912, in El Paso, Texas, to Sam and Annie (Marable) Herndon. Helen came to Arizona in 1934 and was proud of being 2 days older than the state of Arizona! She lived in New River, Ariz. for 50 years. Helen is survived by her children, John and Joe, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee "Buddy" Stephenson, Jr. and her daughter, Julia Ann. There will be no services held at her request. The family request memorial donations be sent to Helen's favorite charity, The St. Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix. The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
