The Herald & Review, Decatur, Illinois Wednesday, May 10, 1995 SHELBYVILLE - Ralph H. Goodman, 72, of Shelbyville died 11:35 a.m. Monday (May 8, 1995) in his residence. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday (May 15, 1995) in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery with military rites. Memorials: Lincolnland Visiting Nurses or American Lung Association. Mr. Goodman was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Norris City, the son of Michael and Nora Marie Dale Goodman. He retired in 1982 from Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150, Countryside. He was a World War II veteran, Gold Card member of Operating Engineers Local 150, life member of Lemont VFW Post 5819 and Moose Lodge 1294 of Shelbyville. He married Helen L. Herman on Dec. 14, 1941. She died on May 6, 1970. Surviving are his special friend, Nancy E. Kessel of Shelbyville; son, Ronald F. Goodman of Prescott, Ariz.; daughters, Norma J. 'Penny' Loughman of Glendale, Ariz. and Millicent K. 'Millie' Bessey of Peoria, Ariz.; brothers, Roy Goodman of Taylorville; Randall Goodman of Frankfort, Ind.; Dale Goodman of West Frankfort; Donald Goodman of Joliet; sister, Nadine Pearson of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and the love of his live, Gizzie. He was preceded in death by his wife, two sisters and one brother. |
