| The Verde Independent Cottonwood, Arizona Eleanor M. Burnett Eleanor May Burnett, 88, of Cottonwood, died Feb. 20, 2007. She was born Feb. 2, 1919, to Thomas Edgar and Malinda Dora May (Skrine) Burnett. In her youth, Eleanor attended Irving Elementary and Proviso East High School in Maywood, Ill., and graduated in 1937. Professionally, she worked as a secretary for Dahlstrom Construction in Franklin Park, Ill., until 1982. Eleanor leaves behind her daughter, Susan, of Cottonwood, along with her significant other, Gordon; one grandson and two great-grandsons. A visitation will be at Westcott Funeral Home on March 1, 5-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow March 2 at 11 a.m. at Westcott Funeral Home. Donations can be sent to Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S.
