Mary Margaret (Kuhn) McIlvain

Mary M. McIlvain, age 84, died April 27, 2004 at her home in Prescott. She was a native of Arizona, born June 25, 1919 in Winslow Arizona to Ruth M. (Baker) and Ernest Alexander Kuhn.

Mary graduated from Prescott High School as did her son and grandsons. She was proud of having three generations of McIlvains being educated in Prescott. Mary loved Prescott and she participated in community activities such as teaching Red Cross swimming at Granite Dells during the 1950's. She lived in Prescott many, many years and was thankful to have lived in such a beautiful place.

She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, enjoyed reading and was an accomplished gardener. Everything Mary did was filled with love and caring for others, and her unselfish actions endeared her to everyone who knew her. She was a joy and inspiration with her positive attitude. Mary's pride and happiness was her family. She especially enjoyed her grandsons and great grandchildren. Her memories and love will never be forgotten. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother and grandmother. Mary is survived by her husband, Joe McIlvain; son, Charles McIlvain and daughter-in-law, Sharon McIlvain; her dear brothers, Richard Kuhn and his wife Martha of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Bob Kuhn and his wife Mari of Cherry Valley, Calif.; grandchildren, Tom McIlvain and wife Bridget of Phoenix, Scott McIlvain of Tempe, Ariz. and two great grandchildren Brianna and Ian McIlvain of Phoenix.

In memory of Mary, donations can be made to Prescott Swim Team, P.O. Box 2886, Prescott, Ariz., 86302.

Services were entrusted to the Hampton Funeral Home of Prescott.

Mary Margaret Mcllvain, 84, of Prescott, born June 25, 1919, in Winslow, Ariz., died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in Prescott.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 30, at the Victorian Chapel of the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott.

The funeral service and burial will be private.

Arrangements by Hampton Funeral Home, Prescott, Ariz.
