The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ February 25, 1938, p. 1 LEE BARKDOLL IS VICTIM OF TRAIN Lee Barkdoll, Scottsdale cowboy and rodeo performer, was fatally injured in Tucson last Wednesday and when he fled from his stalled automobile, was decapitated by the Southern Pacific's east bound Sunday Limited. The accident occurred at a crossing about 1½ miles from the station. Mrs. Barkdoll, who also fled from the car, escaped injury, Barkdoll stumbled as he ran and fell across the tracks. He has been a rodeo performer for the past ten years and will be well remembered here as he made many appearances in the local Remuda arena during past rodeos. See Also: Find a Grave |
