SUICIDE IDENTIFIED AS RESIDENT OF IOWA

The man found dead Monday morning in a car parked about 40 feet off U. S. highway 89, approximately three miles north of Wickenburg, about a half mile north of the Maricopa-Yavapai county line, was identified as J. A. Coates, about 55 years of age, of Knierim, Iowa.

A coroner's jury summoned by Justice of the Peace John Connery of Congress Junction returned a verdict of suicide.

The man had made a bed in the car, laid down on it, then had shot himself in the head with a shotgun. This took place, evidently about three days before the body was found.

Two men living in that section said they noticed the car parked I beside the road when they drove by Friday. They saw it again Saturday. When they saw it a third time Monday they decided some thing must be wrong, so they investigated.

The Hunter Mortuary of Prescott buried the remains in Rolling Hills cemetery Wednesday afternoon, after Sheriff Robert M. Robbins and his men had fingerprinted the deceased. There was no note or other explanation for the suicide.

From home-made toy made of wood, found in the car, investigators assumed that he must have made a living by selling them.

The car was towed to Congress Junction, aired out, then examined Monday afternoon.
