NEIL DENTON DIES IN MINE BLAST

PRESCOTT - Neil Denton, 27 year-old miner, was fatally injured Tuesday by a dynamite blast at the Joker mine, 10 miles south of Wagoner.

Gordon S. Clark, coroner, and R. M. Robbins, sheriff, who went to the mine to investigate said Denton was killed instantly in the explosion as he and Jack Patterson, lessee of the property were blasting rock. Patterson, who was eight feet above Denton in the shaft, suffered leg injuries and was taken to Prescott for treatment.

Jack Patterson is a brother of Mrs. Solper and Mrs. Larry O’Brien of Wickenburg and was reported to be recovering satisfactorily at this writing.

A coroner's jury at the scene returned a verdict of “accidental death."
