Prescott Funeral For G. L. Meyers

Rev. Scott Siegle of Wickenburg conducted funeral services Wednesday afternoon in Prescott for George L. Meyers, 74 year-old Yarnell resident who died in his home Sunday. Burial was in Prescott’s Mountain View Cemetery.

Mr. Meyers, who was born in Jasper, Tenn., moved to Yarnell in 1953 when he retired after 30 years with the U. S. Bureau of Indian Affairs in New Mexico, Washington and Arizona. He served as a teacher in Indian schools at Sacaton, Lehi, Keams Canyon and was principal of the Hopi-Navajo Boarding School from 1938 to 1951.

Surviving are the widow, Violet; three sons, George of Barnsdall, Okla., Donald of Salida, Colo., and Harold of Silver Springs, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Guthrie of El Paso, Texas and Mrs. Ella Ragland of Commerce, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
