The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Nov. 24, 1961 Gunshot Kills Andrew Pribula Andrew A. Pribula, 42 year-old former resident here, died in Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix the evening of Nov. 11 just two hours after he had been shot while attempting to break into a trailer house where his wife and children were staying. Phoenix police were quoted as saying that Pribula’s wife Frances, his 10-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son were living with James M. Martin, 35, in Marin’s trailer in Phoenix and that when Pribula tried to enter the trailer he was told by Martin to stay out and when he didn’t heed the warning, was shot by Martin. Pribula had been adjudged mentally incompetent by a Maricopa County court after he held his family at gunpoint in their home here about two years ago. He was committed to the Arizona State Mental Hospital and later was transferred to the Utah Veterans’ Hospital for mental treatment. He has been released by the latter earlier this year. |
