Jack H. Andre

Jack H. Andre, beloved father, grandpa and friend passed from this life at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center hospice wing surrounded by love and excellent care, with his family by his side on February 26, 2007. Jack was born December 18, 1922 in Evansville, Indiana to James and Bertha (Lillienkamp) Andre.

Jack enlisted in the U.S Army Air Corps. in 1943, and moved to Prescott in January 1945. He attended ASU from 1949 to 1953 and received his Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education. Jack taught in the vocational education department at Prescott Junior High School from 1953 to 1958. He then moved on to teach for Prescott High School as an industrial education teacher from 1958 to 1980. He earned a Master's of Education degree from NAU. During this time Jack served as the department chair for the industrial arts department.

Jack was a longstanding member of the United Methodist Church of Prescott since the early 1940s. He served as a dedicated usher for many years, and was also a member of the Stephens Ministry. He was a past member of the Elks and loved the outdoors. He most enjoyed hiking and fishing, and also loved working with his hands. He had a love of life, and always enjoyed sharing a good time with family and friends.

His wife, Loretta preceded him in death in 1991 after 44 joyful years of marriage.

Left to cherish his memory and live by his example are daughters, Susan Wieweck of Prescott and Shirley Pastor of Flagstaff; and four grandchildren, Todd Wieweck of Salem Oregon, Bryan Wieweck of Prescott, Katherine Pastor of Flagstaff and Jack Pastor of Crested Butte, Colorado. He also had three great grand children, Brittni, Kaitlyn and Landon.

Jack will be remembered for his contributions to the community, his laughter and commitment to education. He lived his life with honesty and integrity, was a true and gentle man, and inspired all who knew him. He had a strong and caring spirit and enjoyed doing things for others. He uplifted all who knew him. He loved and cherished his family and leaves a legacy of priceless character that will live on. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3 at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., Prescott. Pastor Carol Mumford will officiate. Because of his keen interest in education, the family has established a scholarship fund in his name, and requests that memorials are made to the Jack H. Andre Memorial Scholarship Fund. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
