Donald Arthur, Sr. Zeledon

Donald Arthur Zeledon Sr., a resident of Palm Desert, CA, and Cottonwood, AZ, passed away on May 14, 2011. Donald was born to George and Frances Zeledon on January 25, 1931.

He was a graduate of Eastside High School in Paterson, NJ, and Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. After college he served in the U.S. Army attached to the Military Police.

During his lifetime he enjoyed playing basketball (for which he won a college scholarship), baseball and tennis. He was a true fan of all sports, especially when it came to watching his grandsons play baseball. He enjoyed a successful 53-year career in the life insurance industry in California.

He and his wife, Glenda, were married in December, 1979 and lived in Woodland Hills, CA, before moving to Palm Desert.

Don is survived by his two children Dana Frances (Zeledon) Shill and Donald Arthur Zeledon Jr., grandchildren Eli Troy Arnett, Marshall Lee Shill, and Nicole Ashley Sailor, and two great grandchildren. In addition he is survived by his stepchildren Regina Burns, and Brad and Rick Mouer, and step grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Gibb, of Thousand Oaks, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald William Zeledon.

Services will be held on May 20, 2011 at 11:00am at the Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village, California and he will to be laid to rest at the Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village, California.
