Standard-Examiner, Ogden, Utah Saturday, January 13, 2007 Scott Winther passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 9, 2007, at his home in Mesa, Arizona. Scott was born on December 3, 1946 in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Lee and Mary Winther. Scott was the second of 12 children. Scott was preceded in death by his father Lee Winther and step-father, Merlin Anderson. Also preceding Scott in death were his brothers, Fredrick and Johnny; sisters, Mary Lee, Cindy, and Marsha. Scott is survived by his beloved mother, Mary Winther Anderson (Ogden, UT); his son, Robert Winther (NC); along with sisters, Sherry Seger (Mesa, AZ), Peggy Kumm (Rocky Mtn, NC), Cathy Winther (N. Ogden, UT), and Cara Winther (N. Ogden, UT); his brother, Claus "Russ" Winther (Lafayette, LA). Prior to moving to Arizona, Scott was the owner of Winther Motor Company. Scott loved to travel throughout the United States and Europe. During his lifetime Scott lived in many places throughout the United States. Scott had many dear friends. He loved to spend time with family and friends playing cards, golfing, cooking and sharing stories. Scott loved to help people, sharing his wisdom through counseling. Scott touched the lives of countless people and all of our lives were better for knowing and loving him. |
