Jack F. Richards died at home Nov. 14, 2008 after battling cancer for several years. He was born 76 years ago in Xenia, Kan. to L.J. and Rosetta Richards.

He grew up in Kansas and moved to Southern California after high school. After several years in the aerospace industry and two years in the Army, he spent 23 1/2-years in law enforcement. He also spent nine years as a design machinist at Cal Tech in Pasadena.

He and his wife Edi Taylor-Richards retired to Prescott in 1998. His favorite activities included tennis, hiking and vintage sports car touring and racing. Survivors include his wife; sons, Larry of Lake Arrowhead, Calif. and Steven of Tucson; their mother Betty Ruckert of Tucson; three grandchildren; and sister Carol Wiley and family of Pomona, Calif.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

Heritage Memory Mortuary assisted the family with final arrangements.
